A note before reading

This library is based on Master Shengyuan’s personal experiences and reflections on spiritual practice. They may not apply to everyone’s circumstances. It is important to distinguish everyday life from spiritual practice, and science from metaphysical beliefs. Use your own judgment and read with care. If you have questions, you are welcome to discuss them.

Yes. If being active alone feels boring and you cannot get started, try arranging to do it with classmates or friends over a video call. You do not necessarily have to be in the same place to feel that you are doing something together.

I have seen people use video calls to do yoga or dance with friends. Others have two or three friends hire a yoga teacher together, splitting the screen into several views and following along. These were examples I gave at the time to show that even while staying at home, you can find another way to be active with other people.

When your surroundings impose limits, your methods can change with them. If you cannot get yourself going, see whether you can find someone to join you. For activities that previously required meeting in person, consider whether another suitable way is available. Being willing to try different approaches makes it easier to find a place where you can begin.
