A note before reading

This library is based on Master Shengyuan’s personal experiences and reflections on spiritual practice. They may not apply to everyone’s circumstances. It is important to distinguish everyday life from spiritual practice, and science from metaphysical beliefs. Use your own judgment and read with care. If you have questions, you are welcome to discuss them.

Even when someone is wrong, notice whether you join abuse. In the energy principles I discuss, correct reasoning does not prevent negativity while insulting and condemning. Being right cannot erase attention to your own heart.

YOYO mentioned political remarks provoking discussion and online commentary. Keep your judgment without becoming swept into exchanges while wondering how someone could speak that way.

Return attention to today's family and friends and your own words and actions. Discomfort with others' speech should not make you forget care for what you are saying now.

I have read logically sound and well-written criticism that still conveyed intense anger. From energy, correctness and the mood and attitude of expression both matter.

Retaliating after bullying may briefly release anger, but does happiness follow? Continued anger and revenge planning leave the other person directing you. State necessary views and claims without adopting insults too.

If dissatisfaction has already been voiced, examine whether you can release it afterward instead of remaining angry. This does not make insults positive. It identifies present practice: avoid repeated thoughts that keep anger influencing you.
