Starting Spiritual Practice
Does feeling steadier after meditating somewhere prove the teacher sent power?
English translation draft · Based on the Chinese article. This is not a word-for-word translation approved by Master Shengyuan.
Feeling steadier after meditating somewhere does not establish teacher-projected power or removal of karma. Meditation that genuinely settles you can itself support body, mind, and spirit. Understand personal practice’s changes separately from claims of what a teacher did.
I have discussed groups mixing true principles with problematic claims. They may teach meditation that improves feelings, then attribute all ability to the teacher. Religious newcomers can easily misunderstand. One reasonable part does not validate everything afterward, especially continued demands and threats of trouble for stopping.
At Sheng Zhen Men, I guide scripture understanding and divine virtue, remind students to practice, and help assess present conditions and needed adjustments. Those are teaching responsibilities. Personal learning and training remain yours. Understanding your work gradually clarifies how gains arise.
This does not deny teaching or blessings. I still teach, remind, share experiences, and believe deities can give strength. Yet Ming Fen’s willingness to practice and contribute creates her own learning. Every change cannot be attributed to projected power.
Nor should early improvement end observation of a group. A young person described greater interaction and filial care toward parents after joining, and those feelings cannot simply be denied. Yet benefits still allow questions about learning and whether later demands are reasonable. They do not forbid further inquiry.
