How have old friends viewed my later becoming a spiritual teacher?

Spiritual practice has helped me understand others better and gradually become a better person. Looking back, some old friends saw Sheng Zhen Men holding more activities and the spiritual center developing, and said I was earnest and doing well. Others had known me since childhood and knew I prayed and recited scriptures, yet found it hard to imagine that I would become a teacher in a religious group, working on behalf of the deities.

I did not have the ability to see spirits from childhood. I gradually went from having no spiritual perceptions to having them. Having passed through different stages makes it easier to understand the uncertainties of beginners asking questions or people wanting to know how to communicate with deities. I too once did not understand and took the same questions to others.

Those experiences help because actually going through and understanding something makes it easier to explain and appreciate how others feel at that stage. Everyone’s path differs. For me, spiritual practice has brought more than a change from an ordinary person to a teacher. My way of seeing myself and understanding others has gradually changed as well.
