A note before reading

This library is based on Master Shengyuan’s personal experiences and reflections on spiritual practice. They may not apply to everyone’s circumstances. It is important to distinguish everyday life from spiritual practice, and science from metaphysical beliefs. Use your own judgment and read with care. If you have questions, you are welcome to discuss them.

When work is plentiful and unexpected tasks arrive, clarify the tasks and adjust priorities. The reminder of Guanyin Bodhisattva’s thousand hands made me consider not constantly being chased by work. Arrange what is urgent and important, then complete things one by one. A sudden new task requires reassessing how it fits, with some flexibility.

YOYO shared using a notebook to list weekly tasks and crossing off each completed one. A to-do tool can work too, but writing it down is not enough. Review progress and unfinished tasks before or after work each day so recorded items are not still forgotten.

From earlier travel work, she also observed that enjoyment need not lie only in reaching the destination. Researching, planning transportation, or finding alternatives when a preferred hotel is full can bring rewards through solving problems. Work can be seen similarly: notice what is being accomplished rather than only asking when everything will finally be done.
