Why should we avoid judging a person by appearance alone?

We cannot judge people only by their looks. Good looks do not mean someone does everything well, and imperfect appearance does not mean other qualities are poor. In discussing how appearance arises from the heart, I care more about the inner state a person conveys, their sincerity, and how they actually treat others.

I once retold relationship news about an entertainer, describing a partner who devoted time to companionship and care during difficulty. The story illustrated that getting along involves more than being handsome or beautiful; sincere concern and effort also matter. Rather than constantly demanding perfect looks, give yourself confidence and devote more attention to your heart and conduct.
