A note before reading

This library is based on Master Shengyuan’s personal experiences and reflections on spiritual practice. They may not apply to everyone’s circumstances. It is important to distinguish everyday life from spiritual practice, and science from metaphysical beliefs. Use your own judgment and read with care. If you have questions, you are welcome to discuss them.

Parents may pray for their children’s relationships, but should not obstruct a relationship or demand separation simply because they dislike the partner. We discussed praying to Yue Lao that, if the match is unsuitable, the two may part peacefully, and that a good match may appear soon if there is one. The emphasis is a prayer, not interference through harmful words.

This expresses concern through faith. It cannot let outsiders decide someone’s relationship merely by saying, “This is not your destined match.” Nor must prayers to Yue Lao wait for a particular festival. Specific service arrangements require separate inquiry; schedules from older programs are not automatically current arrangements.
