A note before reading

This library is based on Master Shengyuan’s personal experiences and reflections on spiritual practice. They may not apply to everyone’s circumstances. It is important to distinguish everyday life from spiritual practice, and science from metaphysical beliefs. Use your own judgment and read with care. If you have questions, you are welcome to discuss them.

One person naturally has different states of mind. Work may require authority, while friends allow relaxation and joy. Both exist within us without contradiction. I also use this angle to explain experiences of channeling different deities.

Channeling Lord Bao, I am more serious; with Master Ji Gong, more cheerful. Studying the three hun and seven po, I understood these shifts through differing emotional energies. That is my religious understanding, not a way to identify a channeled deity solely from facial expression.

On pilgrimage I described a clear contrast: ordinarily, certain student actions make me insistent about improvements; channeling Master Ji Gong, I experience a more relaxed, composed perspective. This difference in thought is one clue through which I understand divine intention in my own experience. Consider it within relationships, service, and long acquaintance. A changed tone alone cannot certify anyone's claimed deity.
