Work and Money
How do the Civil and Martial Wealth Gods and the Earth God differ in prayers for prosperity?

Work type offers an initial understanding. I have associated internal, administrative, and clerical work more with the Civil Wealth God, and outward development and actively generating sales more with the Martial Wealth God. The Earth God also has a local connection, like a neighborhood or village leader, so I suggested learning about temples near home or work.
On pilgrimage to Beigang, we also discussed that people seeking wealth do not necessarily distinguish civil and martial roles. Categories cannot become a rule that a profession may worship only one deity. They explain context, rather than restrict faith choices.
Prayers for prosperity still return to work and action. Explain needs clearly, make vows with reasonable conditions, and consider adjustments in methods, contacts, and initiative. Finding a corresponding context does not remove effort or guarantee a particular outcome.
In Sheng Zhen Men's early days, I commonly prayed to Guanyin for financial help. Later Master Ji Gong taught us ways of seeking blessings, and related rituals developed. He often reminded us that earning money is difficult: help and stable living give people more capacity to share. A deity's title need not contain 'Wealth God' before you can explain financial hardship.
Giving also requires understanding current needs. Seeking help to support family or face genuine hardship is not automatically selfish. Deities' hope that we will care for others after improving differs from demanding that people never consider their own basic needs.
