Stories of Sheng Zhen Men
How should listeners understand the scope of answers given to questions on the program?
English translation draft · Based on the Chinese article. This is not a word-for-word translation approved by Master Shengyuan.
Many program questions come from actual listeners, students, and disciples. I record responses so other practitioners can also consult them and continue discussing what remains unclear. Professional content can be explained in accessible, relaxed language. I sometimes invite YOYO to join so that prolonged solo speaking does not become preaching. Some listen while commuting or relaxing and need not constantly memorize terms. Still, answers must be understood with their original conditions. Do not extract only a desired sentence or decide for everyone in a similar situation because someone else once asked.
Questions have different purposes too. Relatives and friends sometimes simply care or seek conversation, rather than demand a full account of private affairs. Asked about income, you can say it meets your needs or directly say you prefer not to discuss it. A clear, positive response need not immediately become confrontation. Understand what the person wants to ask before deciding how much you wish to share. This differs from questions genuinely requiring deeper discussion.
