Stories of Sheng Zhen Men
How can we cooperate and appreciate one another when one person cannot do everything?
English translation draft · Based on the Chinese article. This is not a word-for-word translation approved by Master Shengyuan.
One person cannot do everything. Noticing others’ contributions makes gratitude more than a spoken thanks. I thank Sheng Zhen Men’s deities for protection and friends for support. Together they make Sheng Zhen Men possible. I also treasure my parents’ and children’s support. Neo and Qian Qian said on the program that they understood their father’s hard work and supported him. Many students who were not originally relatives are also like family. I understand these connections as grace through faith, not guaranteed family approval for everyone who practices.
Couples participating together can support each other and the group through trust and involvement. Each couple chooses differently; no one route is compulsory. Notice what you cannot do and who is helping, rather than thank only the most visible person.
Working together also requires compatible methods. I compare washing and waxing a car: someone unaware of an earlier completed wash starts washing again. Different methods repeatedly redoing work may prevent completion. Religious rites can likewise become confused when approaches do not connect. More participants are not automatically better.
The “Shengyuan Says” stickers were created through shared effort. Dao Yue drew, Dao Jing discussed, practitioners helped with postproduction, words and fonts, and YOYO assisted submission. Rejection required revisions; a good idea did not remove every obstacle. I am grateful for everyone’s expertise turning a discussed idea into a finished work.
