A note before reading

This library is based on Master Shengyuan’s personal experiences and reflections on spiritual practice. They may not apply to everyone’s circumstances. It is important to distinguish everyday life from spiritual practice, and science from metaphysical beliefs. Use your own judgment and read with care. If you have questions, you are welcome to discuss them.

Experiences not recorded promptly may fade into vague impressions. I first wrote articles and later used Podcasts to share and preserve practice and service cases for later review. Recording with Neo and Qian Qian also preserves parent-child conversations for their adulthood and perhaps the next generation. But childhood events they do not remember cannot be called their own confirmation merely because I mentioned them.

Records still contain a person’s viewpoint. Explain what happened, how you remember it and how you interpret it, rather than only make the story extraordinary. Preserving the process allows later examination. No fixed diary form is required, and recording a bodily reaction does not establish its medical cause.

Keeping programs also hopes to reach beyond those familiar with us. From the beginning, I wanted sound and the internet to share professional, spiritual and service insights with people everywhere. A sentence or viewpoint might add daily understanding or a direction for learning about faith.

We recorded an episode daily then, hoping to accompany learning every day. Initial unfamiliarity and evolving audio quality meant listening to feedback while doing. My hope for listeners ten, a hundred or a thousand years later expressed a wish to preserve learning, not a platform guarantee or an already accomplished result.
