Divination and Guidance
Is a Chinese chess lifelong annual chart the same as a reading about one matter?
English translation draft · Based on the Chinese article. This is not a word-for-word translation approved by Master Shengyuan.
A lifelong annual chart and an ordinary reading about one matter differ in scope. In my method, a reading presents energy conditions of a person and matter for interpretation. If energy at birth and reincarnation can be presented, it can theoretically inform interpretation of a lifetime’s destiny. That is how I understand a chess chart.
However, opening a chart involves more divine participation, reaching what I have called a partly spirit-communicating level beyond ordinary readings. It was therefore not taught as broadly as basic divination then. Knowing piece definitions does not qualify someone to construct another person’s entire life chart.
Dao Shan had her own chart and introduced relatives and friends. She felt its broad direction resembled a Zi Wei chart and showed some favorable and unfavorable aspects and annual fortunes. That was her comparative impression, not necessary equivalence between tools or a reason to treat every later event as fixed and beyond choice.
