Deities and Faith
How does Master Shengyuan approach different methods when joining other groups' ceremonies?

I attend others' ceremonies intending to observe, listen, and learn, while explaining my own approach beforehand. Nearly thirty years of spiritual cultivation does not mean I understood outside ceremonies from the beginning. A few years earlier, through connections with the King of the Underworld and Lord Bao, I joined over twenty ceremonies in roughly two years, from large events to other scales. Only by gradually watching and learning did I understand more.
The first invitation came from a senior fellow practitioner in southern Taiwan. I first explained that Sheng Zhen Men had its own methods and I did not know whether they would differ. He said inviting us meant trusting us, so I felt more reassured and followed our deities' guidance. This involved prior explanation and the host's trust, not permission to ignore arrangements and do whatever I wanted at someone else's event.
Later, as Lord Bao's mission and lessons reached different stages, assistance at those ceremonies concluded and we adjusted according to divine guidance. My comments about returning to hold court and how often we traveled then described arrangements of that period, not a current fixed schedule. These experiences strengthened my sense that practice requires continual learning and examination of our beliefs and intentions. Familiarity with one approach does not mean knowing every method.
