Dao Xuan met me through a friend's introduction while at university. I was offering services at a mixed-format restaurant then. Dao Xuan and classmates visited and found it unusual to see Chinese chess divination together with requests to draw and write. Later, Dao Xuan independently came to my small studio for guidance and gradually began joining group practice.

Dao Xuan recalled little religious exposure or temple worship at home. The mother was Catholic and the father served in the military; only later did Dao Xuan learn the father also held Buddhist and Taoist beliefs. Meanwhile, frequent dreams since childhood sometimes corresponded with later events, including dreams of fires and deceased people. Feeling afraid and uncertain about possible unseen interference, Dao Xuan wanted clarification.

Through divination then, I responded from perspectives of practice and divine connection and discussed unseen beings seeking help in dreams. Dao Xuan remembered revealing three red soldiers and later feeling something similar through Osho Zen cards. After talking further and learning of Friday-evening group practice, Dao Xuan came with classmates to meditate before the Bodhisattva's altar. That began the connection.

These are Dao Xuan's childhood, dreams, and first encounters, separate from my experiences. The story helps explain approaching faith. It does not determine the same cause for everyone who dreams frequently.
