A note before reading

This library is based on Master Shengyuan’s personal experiences and reflections on spiritual practice. They may not apply to everyone’s circumstances. It is important to distinguish everyday life from spiritual practice, and science from metaphysical beliefs. Use your own judgment and read with care. I have introduced Zhong Kui’s birthday as the ninth day of the ninth lunar month, using the association of the character 馗 with nine heads to explain the date’s symbolism. This was my understanding when sharing folk faith, not a claim that every legendary source had been historically verified.

When discussing birthday worship at Sheng Zhen Men, I could not guarantee a descent in advance. A deity usually comes on such birthdays, but which one is not certain. I often feel moved that despite their own birthday, deities still come giving gifts and support to beings, showing compassion.

The invitation to celebrate belonged to that event. It can explain birthday worship’s intention, but present participation requires the current announcement, not an old program’s timetable.
