Can everyone eat universal-offering food, and when do I recommend avoiding it?
English translation draft · Based on the Chinese article. This is not a word-for-word translation approved by Master Shengyuan.
If you feel your fortunes are low, energy weak, or health poor, with dizziness, headaches, or other discomfort, I recommend avoiding universal-offering food for now. This reminder starts from religious energy, not assessment of food quality or health diagnosis.
Universal offerings feed wandering spirits from all directions, and I consider the condition left after their participation. Earlier programs discussed possible changes in cooked food’s taste and energy with relatively less effect on rice and dry goods. A later episode said wandering spirits also consume dry goods, changing energy and leaving their cold yin influence on them. This cannot become a rule that dry food is always unaffected, nor does ritual use determine food quality. Offerings to deities and universal offerings to wandering spirits differ within faith and must not be conflated.
Sheng Zhen Men requests divine purification and blessings to reduce influence, but this does not cancel the personal conditions mentioned above. Even after purification, I still do not recommend it for those with low fortunes, weaker energy, or physical discomfort. Consider your own condition.
Some donate offerings to people in need. Avoiding waste and compassionate giving express understandable care. Yet my religious consideration of energy and personal condition remains; good deeds do not cancel all conditions. Conversely, recipients cannot automatically be assumed harmed.
Someone eating without difficulty does not make all people and offerings identical. Discomfort afterward alone also cannot establish spirit interference. Understand religious practices and personal conditions without reducing context-specific reminders to one identical rule for everyone.
