Deities and Faith
Do righteous deities give lottery numbers, and does doing so make a deity bad?
English translation draft · Based on the Chinese article. This is not a word-for-word translation approved by Master Shengyuan.
The saying that righteous deities do not give winning numbers reflects my understanding that deities want learning and growth through life’s challenges, not a set of numbers bypassing effort. Faith should increase wisdom beyond immediate gain.
Conversely, a deity who once gave numbers is not necessarily bad. Particular circumstances may involve help at a critical moment. Without the full story, do not rush to final judgment.
Consider virtue, context of service, and whether people learn their lessons. Examine whether you seek understanding and support or only immediate advantage. Giving numbers cannot be the sole authenticity test or turn one example into a wealth method everyone can expect.
I have discussed people whose failed lottery prayers led them to feel unprotected or discard statues. To me, deities are teachers helping us face life, gain wisdom, and cross difficulties, not specialists in fulfilling lottery wishes. Not winning does not establish divine departure or invalidate all faith.
