A note before reading

This library is based on Master Shengyuan’s personal experiences and reflections on spiritual practice. They may not apply to everyone’s circumstances. It is important to distinguish everyday life from spiritual practice, and science from metaphysical beliefs. Use your own judgment and read with care. If you have questions, you are welcome to discuss them.

You need not first regard keen perception as bad. If you can discern that somewhere feels uncomfortable or unsuitable, keep your distance. Such perception can help you move toward favorable conditions and avoid harm, without forcing closeness to prove strength.

I have discussed how Sheng Zhen Men’s demon-subduing practitioners, learning long-term with deities who subdue demons, often perceive uncomfortable or negative atmospheres more readily. This is what I have observed in practice and service, not an identical fixed ability possessed by everyone.

However, sensing something differs from being able to address it. Explain discomfort and seek understanding rather than immediately pronouncing judgment on a person or place. Using sensitivity for greater steadiness and appropriateness better reflects my reminder than continually pursuing perceptions or feeling danger everywhere.
