A note before reading

This library is based on Master Shengyuan’s personal experiences and reflections on spiritual practice. They may not apply to everyone’s circumstances. It is important to distinguish everyday life from spiritual practice, and science from metaphysical beliefs. Use your own judgment and read with care. With lots, moon blocks, or other divination tools, first clarify the question and learn to interpret the result. Chinese chess, tarot, and character analysis have definitions and suitable questions. One accurate occasion does not mean everything can be asked.

I have studied business-card and mahjong divination and discussed playing cards and tarot. Different words and images still have their own rules. In my religious understanding, their energy principles may connect, but methods are not identical and that faith interpretation is not a proven universal law.

Read a lot with its question, text, and interpretation, not only preferred parts. Unclear questions and repeated moon-block throws do not necessarily improve understanding. Clarification differs from changing methods until a disliked answer becomes satisfactory. The latter easily turns wishes into supposed instructions.

When Dao Jing accompanied a manager to rice divination, he had no particular question and felt awkward discussing work beside the manager. He guessed insufficient engagement explained his sense of lesser accuracy. That was his feeling, not a universal rule. Another practitioner saw an elderly woman near Tokyo Station with long queues for readings but never personally consulted her. Crowds and reports of accuracy differ from personal verification; I did not try it either.

In choosing a teacher, notice willingness to explain principles, sources of advice, and how it returns you to action. Tools require study and limits. Old stories, personal experiences, and direct consultations have conditions. One case cannot become a formula, nor can all real-world verification be handed to divination.

On a pilgrimage, Dao Xuan found earlier reflection cards and lots from different temples reminding her of the same practice lesson, clarifying adjustment. I also said differing messages require thought and discussion. Similar messages can offer faith-based comparison but identical wording does not mean complete understanding. Consider both question and application.

I have shared cases where people repeatedly begged Master Ji Gong because they could not bear family suffering, and deities still sought ways and other divine help. That compassion moved me. Yet forcing repeated requests until success, like demanding a prize, is not a good faith attitude. Deities also require good deeds, merit, giving, and dedication, not merely payment or a brief prayer. Cherish reminders with received help; one day’s events cannot guarantee all requests succeed.

Coffee grounds, character analysis, and Chinese chess all read a presented form, but images, words, and methods have their contexts. I discuss energy connections religiously, while learners must know the definitions behind interpretation rather than assigning arbitrary answers to shapes.

I drew the same annual lot two years running. Already wanting a retreat but never arranging it, I saw the reminder again and wondered if I was standing still, then made plans. This connected a lot with my practice then. Others drawing the same lot are not necessarily unprogressing or required to retreat.

Mixed or unclear matters may be separated and clarified before asking again. But repeatedly asking the same question until favorable moon blocks appear because you dislike the result changes consultation’s meaning. My reminder not to ask twice concerns chasing desired answers, not forbidding further understanding when something was unclear or unspoken.

Dao Fan shared feeling responses were more direct at the center where he served when questions were clear and his mind steady. A teacher sometimes also senses stability, but mindset is only one aspect. Feeling certain cannot replace clear questioning and interpretation. These are personal experiences, not identical expectations for everyone.

I have suggested confirming ordinary consultations with three consecutive favorable throws. Still consider clarity, expectations, and interpretation; counting three does not prove everything. If listeners only describe conclusions and I did not see the process, I cannot assume accuracy.

A student asked whether favorable blocks at a large temple prove another place has a righteous deity. I remind them that results still have conditions needing inquiry. Religiously, personal state and interference may affect consultation. Standing before a large temple does not prove every answer. This is a possible risk, not a claim every person’s blocks are affected.

Matters you can judge with your wisdom need not all go to moon blocks. Even using Chinese chess divination, I do not entrust every life decision to it. Reference value still requires understanding problems and observing concrete conduct. A few favorable throws cannot override unreasonable demands.

For national-fortune lots, I recommend reference and considering reminders for learning or adjustment. A good-looking lot does not bring luck to someone idle at home, and a bad-looking one does not nullify effort. That discussion concerned national-fortune lots, not a claim all divination is casual amusement. Yet retaining personal judgment and action remains my repeated reminder.
