A note before reading

This library is based on Master Shengyuan’s personal experiences and reflections on spiritual practice. They may not apply to everyone’s circumstances. It is important to distinguish everyday life from spiritual practice, and science from metaphysical beliefs. Use your own judgment and read with care. If you have questions, you are welcome to discuss them.

Why can divination for myself be less accurate?

The more a matter concerns you, the more easily expectation, fear or a preferred answer enters a reading. Sometimes the tool is not at fault. It is difficult to distinguish what the reading says from what you want it to say.

If unclear, ask an experienced person or consider different methods together. Multiple perspectives do not mean asking until satisfied. Check whether the question is clear, conditions identical and interpretations actually differ. If answers keep changing without new circumstances, review your questioning and understanding.

During my early career transition, I conducted readings for myself and received confirmation from several teachers. That was my faith journey, not a requirement to find three teachers for every major decision. Preparation, choice and responsibility remain yours. If readings create confusion and fear of deciding even small matters, consider a different way of using them.

By “those skilled in change do not need divination,” I mean observant people can understand principles through events without always casting a reading. Observing the world and understanding energy patterns develop judgment. They do not remove thought or make the first idea an answer.

Spiritual perception presents a similar difficulty: in your own affairs, is a feeling perceived or desired? Sometimes even the person cannot tell, so highly perceptive teachers may seek readings. I value readings because they offer something everyone can see and discuss. Yet interpreters still need awareness of expectations. Using a tool does not eliminate bias.
