Deities and Faith
How can I consider perceptions, premonitions, dreams and coincidences without becoming more confused?

Perceptions, dreams and intuition have mattered in my faith journey. But a feeling does not make every thought a divine message. Imagination, emotions, external circumstances and different energies may all bring unusual feelings. Consider source and context. Solemn images or extraordinary claims do not warrant accepting everything.
I have met naturally sensitive people and friends reporting unusual experiences after accidents, during practice or while disturbed. Others practiced fundamentals for a long time before gradually understanding themselves. This is my religious understanding, not medical or scientific certification of an ability. Two people seeing different images also does not settle authenticity from one discrepancy.
If someone has recently felt inexplicably low or uneasy, I suggest care, explaining the situation clearly and perhaps exploring it through trusted divination or religious channels. Further understanding may reveal no unseen issue in our terms, only excessive worry. If none is present, say so rather than letting someone frighten themselves. Online divination and home or personal energy checks described in the program had an old fee of six hundred dollars. That is not a fixed current quote, nor does every low mood require purchasing rituals.
You can record feelings and later compare them with reality. If unclear, say unclear rather than force an explanation. Some need teacher assistance; others can first attend to daily life and health. Special ability is not the only purpose of practice. Notice clearer judgment, steadier speech and conduct, and reduced fear or arrogance. Do not neglect ordinary work in pursuit of more perceptions.
An incident during a visit with YOYO to Keelung for a shrine-opening ceremony could easily invite speculation. YOYO said her phone failed twice when filming and succeeded the third time. I used a GoPro and had not yet checked the footage. She found it puzzling, and we discussed possible energy through faith, yet what I actually sensed was less than expected. Whether spirits had left early or did not want filming remained conjecture. A phone malfunction did not establish its cause. It was an experience for discussion and a reminder to respect customs and the deceased, not build increasing fear from one image.
As a child worshipping with my mother, I felt the Bodhisattva was like family without necessarily being able to explain why. Later, as a teacher receiving deities and conducting services, some perceptions let me know things previously unknown and deepened my appreciation of faith’s support. During reception, I open my heart to feel, then distinguish afterward between my own inner voice and what I understand as divine messages. This accumulated gradually. Hearing an inner voice does not let everyone conclude a deity has arrived.
Perceiving matters about another person also requires their actual response. I have said spirit communicators’ feelings can be intangible and difficult to establish with certainty without checking with the person. Confirmation that they thought that way or faced that situation gives more confidence. A feeling cannot bypass checking.
Some messages require repeated questions to understand their actual meaning. Greater perception has not removed that step for me. Especially when wanting powers or proof of sensitivity, honestly ask whether personal expectations are mixed in. An image or feeling should not immediately fix its meaning.
I described a journey to Taitung in which a strong feeling came first, followed by requests for guidance and divination to confirm the destination step by step before setting out. This was my confirmation process then. Someone saying a deity is looking for me differs from my actually exploring it myself.
At a birthday worship gathering, a friend said He Xiangu was outside and asked me to receive her. Worship inside was ongoing, so I asked him to receive her first, but he insisted I must come out. I did not interrupt the indoor activity. Later I discussed with him how divine virtue matters: a guest demanding that a host stop current work to greet them is itself worth considering. Someone’s perception does not establish a true deity as its source or remove our judgment.
As inspiration increases, judgment must develop alongside it. I have discussed people gradually becoming more sensitive when learning divination and starting spiritual practice. The purpose is greater understanding and knowing how to seek good and avoid harm. Willingness to observe and practice, and sufficient wisdom to understand circumstances, matter as much as sensations. Do not compete only over who sees an image first without understanding it.
