Stories of Sheng Zhen Men
How was Sheng Zhen Men’s founding Thousand-Armed Guanyin statue invited?

Sheng Zhen Men first worshipped a printed image of Thousand-Armed Guanyin and later invited a statue measuring eight cun and eight fen. The process remains memorable because many friends and benefactors genuinely helped at the beginning.
The picture was given to me as a gesture of connection by a female practitioner at a spiritual center in Keelung. Originally kept at home, it later accompanied me to the center when I began teaching. Arrangements were simple: a table frame left at rented premises with a wooden board on top. A client later suggested helping together to obtain a proper altar table and statue.
People donated over twenty thousand. As I recall, the altar cost about seventeen thousand, and we also bought a censer, vases, and supplies. I originally wanted a statue of one chi and three cun, but a Chinese chess divination student introduced me to their teacher, who had two Thousand-Armed Guanyin statues measuring eight cun and eight fen.
Their appearances were similar. I preferred the left one at first sight and felt its face resembled mine a little. I wanted confirmation through Chinese chess: if connected, I would draw the red General representing the Bodhisattva. I drew for the left one first and truly got that card, which surprised me. I did not draw for the right; the accompanying student later drew the red Elephant.
The other party said it was offered to form a connection: take it if I liked it and choose the amount myself. Having little money with me, I placed two thousand in a red envelope. I knew the statue was worth more and was deeply grateful. This was my personal experience inviting the founding statue and strengthened confidence in my connection with the Bodhisattva. It does not mean others following the same steps will draw identical cards.
