Carrying more protective amulets from different temples does not necessarily strengthen protection. I suggest first understanding your needs and which temple or deity you feel connected with. You do not have to carry every amulet you obtain out of fear that protection might be insufficient.

I have encountered people carrying amulets from many temples. It is easy initially to think that each represents a deity, so adding many together should increase their power. But what we have encountered and felt in practice has not been that simple. I later came to understand it in terms of whether different forces pull against one another, rather than as an addition of quantities.

I have also used ritual experience to illustrate this: several people trying to cleanse the same place, each using different visualizations and methods, may not necessarily reinforce each other. This is our practical religious experience. It does not mean cooperation is always bad, nor that seeing two incense pouches establishes definite conflict.

Tokens from the same temple and those obtained from many different temples also cannot be treated as entirely identical situations. Simply praying to a deity with whom you have a connection can still provide profound support through faith. Worshipping deities at home also does not mean you can never visit outside temples. My point is not to treat the number of protective objects as a guarantee of the degree of protection.
