A note before reading

This library is based on Master Shengyuan’s personal experiences and reflections on spiritual practice. They may not apply to everyone’s circumstances. It is important to distinguish everyday life from spiritual practice, and science from metaphysical beliefs. Use your own judgment and read with care. If you have questions, you are welcome to discuss them.

Deities and Faith

Does a deity drawing beside someone’s name necessarily mean purification?

Not necessarily. Marks beside a name cannot alone establish that something is being purified or removed. Understand the meaning in that moment rather than guess from movements on paper.

A student asked this, and I honestly said one answer was difficult. I do not consider every instance purification. Such a function may exist, but my experience more often involves communication through writing and drawing, helping me understand and convey divine meaning.

Like live translation, I sense not just written shapes but emotion, subject and intention. This is my experience during services, not a universal rule for every paper bearing names and designs. Preserve what remains unclear rather than urgently identify a completed ritual.
