Deities and Faith
If deities already know who I am, why state my name and address when worshipping?

Stating your name, address, and wishes to the deities is more than testing whether they know who you are. In my religious understanding, willingly approaching them and earnestly speaking about your affairs is itself an action expressing trust and building a connection.
I used to think very rationally too: if deities have great powers, why introduce myself? Later, after becoming a spirit medium, I did experience sensing what a client wanted to ask before they even stood before me. But such an experience does not conflict with people still expressing their intentions. One instance of perception does not establish that explanations can be omitted every time.
Saying who you are and what you request also turns a thought into a concrete action. This is how I understand the movement of energy within faith. It does not mean that correctly reporting a set of details guarantees a specified result. The point remains how you approach your faith, express your wishes, and act afterward.
So there is no need to worship with the attitude, 'If you really are a deity, guess for yourself.' Clearly explaining what you want to express and communicating earnestly is closer to my intended reminder than continually testing the deities.
