Does wealth-robbing sha affect only money, and how do black horse–black elephant and the reverse order differ?

It is not only about money. In Sheng Zhen Men's Chinese chess divination, I explain wealth-robbing sha through energy depletion. It may appear as extra expenses or within a relationship as feeling that you have given much without a corresponding response. The question still matters. The word 'wealth' in the name does not mean every occurrence should be interpreted only as financial loss.

I have used sleep as a comparison for energy depletion. When fortune favors you, sleeping eight hours replenishes eight hours' worth of energy. When fortune is unfavorable, eight hours of sleep may not give eight hours' worth, as though discounted to sixty percent, providing roughly five hours of support. This is only a comparison. It is not about sleep quality, nor a claim that five of eight hours are deep sleep.

In a relationship question, there may really be extra spending, such as buying a gift after an argument to soothe the other person. Or it may describe a period when maintaining the relationship feels harder and the other person no longer responds to your usual efforts in the same way. This describes that particular period, not a judgment that someone's relationships will remain like this throughout life.

I also distinguish the two sequences. Black horse followed by black elephant is understood as fortune entering a more depleting phase. Black elephant followed by black horse is described as 'sha coming to rob wealth,' emphasizing an external factor affecting the original energy. Distinguish them when seeking the cause.

For the latter, the approach is to understand that external cause. For the former, help may be sought through religious practices for removing misfortune, praying for blessings, and replenishing fortune. These names explain distinctions within divination. A single financial loss or argument does not let you decide for yourself which applies. After an external cause is addressed, energy and fortune may recover more readily, making that type easier to resolve. This is the direction described in the reading, not a guarantee that treatment will bring improvement.

An individual piece also needs to be placed within the question. In a fortune question, the black elephant may be interpreted in terms of sha energy. In a family relationship question, it may instead represent a family member. Every appearance of the black elephant cannot be treated as the same unseen problem.

In Chinese chess divination, the combination of black advisor and black elephant represents unseen sha, meaning an unseen negative-energy condition. One memorable occasion involved a former student giving a friend a reading at a KTV. The chess pieces had a strong smoke smell when taken out. This is the combination's meaning within the question, not a universal interpretation whenever a black elephant appears.
