Does eating duck eggs on lunar New Year’s second day bring bad luck all year?

I do not think eating duck eggs that day makes the whole year unfavorable. Some associate duck eggs with scoring zero on an exam, but that association cannot become a prohibition on eating them.

Discussing it with Dao Yue, I felt it resembled a later extension of a saying, not necessarily everyone’s view. Hearing a taboo, first examine its account and reason rather than immediately fearing you ate incorrectly.

The intention of auspiciousness and kind words at New Year can remain. But I do not regard one duck egg as condemning the entire following year.
