A note before reading

This library is based on Master Shengyuan’s personal experiences and reflections on spiritual practice. They may not apply to everyone’s circumstances. It is important to distinguish everyday life from spiritual practice, and science from metaphysical beliefs. Use your own judgment and read with care. Divination and Guidance

Does asking about work or relationships in divination mean that area must be going badly?

Not necessarily. Asking about work does not mean work is necessarily going badly. Likewise, a relationship question alone does not establish that something is wrong in the relationship. First understand what the client wants to ask, then examine the current reading, rather than guess an answer beforehand.

In my early years, four women friends came for divination together. One asked about work, and every chess piece she turned over was favorable. I asked what she wanted to understand, since her work looked so good. She said her work really was good, but she felt a little bored. Her companions' work was also not bad, although their readings each indicated things to watch for, which I explained individually. Her reading did not contain those circumstances, so I could not apply the same reminders to her.

I once heard a supposed technique for guessing clients' situations: someone asking about love must be unlucky in love, and someone asking about wealth must have poor finances. This example shows why such direct conclusions are inappropriate. Someone asking about a matter and its actual condition still need to be distinguished. Explain honestly according to the reading you see.
