A note before reading

This library is based on Master Shengyuan’s personal experiences and reflections on spiritual practice. They may not apply to everyone’s circumstances. It is important to distinguish everyday life from spiritual practice, and science from metaphysical beliefs. Use your own judgment and read with care. If you have questions, you are welcome to discuss them.

The person's death alone does not make the photograph necessarily unfavorable. Consider its meaning to you and how you understand the person.

In my faith understanding, energy may change after death, but positive intentions during taking and producing a photograph may remain. Remembering the person's effort, kindness, and encouragement can still bring happiness and strength. Their absence does not erase all positive feelings.

I therefore consider both sides: the photograph's connection and the user's impressions and feelings. Continuing to see the person as positive and worth learning from may reduce the effect of external changes. This concerns understanding and using photographs, not reaching the same conclusion about all images solely from whether the subject is alive.
