A note before reading

This library is based on Master Shengyuan’s personal experiences and reflections on spiritual practice. They may not apply to everyone’s circumstances. It is important to distinguish everyday life from spiritual practice, and science from metaphysical beliefs. Use your own judgment and read with care. It reminds us not to judge practice only through titles and outward achievements. We also need to attend to our words and actions. Being observed and questioned can provide a reminder to remain vigilant about ourselves.

I shared a religious story about Lord Wang. In outline, he doubted whether a practitioner was genuinely upright and later followed Perfected Master Sa to observe him. After a long time, seeing that the practice was indeed sound, he instead became the master’s disciple. What I value is the spirit of withstanding observation and putting practice into conduct.

When writing books or conducting services, I also wonder whether one day someone will point out that my claims are exaggerated or my work inadequate. Rather than wait until then to defend myself, I can remind myself now not to gain achievements gradually while forgetting my original nature and assuming everything I do is right.
