Spiritual Protection and Energy
Why might someone still struggle when unseen beings want to help them?

Good intentions and the capacity to bear something need separate consideration. In my understanding from religious service, unseen beings wishing to help does not mean their constant presence makes life smoother. We also need to understand the relationship and the person’s current condition.
A woman asked about karma. In the story Master Ji Gong told, she had previously been a young Daoist raised in a temple who befriended spirit creatures in the mountains while practising facing a wall. The young Daoist promised to bring them to attainment together if spiritual fruition was reached. This did not happen, and the friends kept following, hoping to urge her to practise. The woman also said she often felt unseen friends helping during danger. These are a religious account within a service and the person’s own reported feelings.
Her family asked why her fortune remained poor if they wanted to help. Master Ji Gong compared it with carrying very heavy objects or many people: with too great a burden, one cannot move forward. The arrangement then was for these beings to remain at Sheng Zhen Men and learn from deities and Buddhas rather than continually follow her, while her own practice gradually progressed. This was coordination after understanding that promise and both sides’ circumstances, not a fixed response to every unseen problem.
