A note before reading

This library is based on Master Shengyuan’s personal experiences and reflections on spiritual practice. They may not apply to everyone’s circumstances. It is important to distinguish everyday life from spiritual practice, and science from metaphysical beliefs. Use your own judgment and read with care. If you have questions, you are welcome to discuss them.

Not necessarily. Giving someone an opportunity to change and accepting their romantic pursuit are different. You can refuse to treat past mistakes as a lifelong judgment and still choose not to date them.

When discussing an entertainer’s return to work, I felt that, if he genuinely wished to change and do his work seriously, we could watch his subsequent conduct and allow another opportunity to make an effort. But when I asked a fellow practitioner whether she would accept romantic pursuit from such a person, her answer remained no.

People care about different things. Some cannot accept the person’s past; others consider it over and are willing to examine present conduct. Dating returns to your own views and choices. Allowing someone to work and live anew does not require becoming their partner yourself.
