No. A small amount does not mean little sincerity. Resources differ, and the same sum carries different weight in different lives. Recipients should appreciate the contribution.

I once told a story of an elderly woman with very little money who still offered it for a lamp, wishing her family health and peace. A young monk found her lamp could not be extinguished, and an older monk explained that giving what little she had expressed profound sincerity.

The story reminds us not to look only at numbers. A wealthy person may remain comfortable after a donation, while someone with limited resources gives the same amount at much greater personal cost. This comparison explains the intention within offerings.

An offering contains trust, respect, and a wish to help. Responding contemptuously because it is small harms that good intention. Even a modest amount deserves sincere thanks rather than rejection as insufficient.
