A note before reading

This library is based on Master Shengyuan’s personal experiences and reflections on spiritual practice. They may not apply to everyone’s circumstances. It is important to distinguish everyday life from spiritual practice, and science from metaphysical beliefs. Use your own judgment and read with care. If you have questions, you are welcome to discuss them.

In Sheng Zhen Men, spiritual practice aims to reduce interference and help life gradually become more stable and better. It is not intended to make people more sensitive and aware of more ghosts every day. Clarify this direction first, so that hearing 'you need to practice' does not feel like an extra burden on top of existing distress.

A listener once asked about a friend who had been sensitive since childhood and had become increasingly frustrated at repeatedly being told to practice when seeking help. In responding, I spoke from my own religious experience: first understand why the person is sensitive and what influences they encounter, then use practice to raise what we call their energetic frequency. The point is not what else they can see, but whether the state troubling them improves.

Whether to practice remains your choice. I have also said it is one method of addressing a problem. If circumstances do not allow everything to be handled at once, start with what you can do. Whether to perform work for deities is a separate choice. Wanting life to feel easier does not mean you must take on a religious occupation from then on.

Nor do you need to avoid learning about spiritual practice because you fear gaining powers or being obliged to serve others afterward. In discussing this, I specifically separated several matters: spiritual practice does not necessarily produce supernatural abilities; seeing ghosts and deities does not mean you already know how to use spiritual power; and even if you genuinely have an ability, how to use it and whether to undertake religious work remain your choices. People with abilities still need to eat and sleep. They have not left human life behind.

However, the purpose of practice also needs to be distinguished from feelings that arise while learning. Some people do become more sensitive to external things after beginning spiritual exercises. I have explicitly said this does not happen to everyone. In our understanding, training spiritual energy may make perceptions more noticeable, but the direction of learning remains to gradually discern, make choices, and become settled, rather than focus on negative sensations all day.
