Can I ask Lord Bao for help with unfair treatment before taking a case to court?

Yes. You need not wait until a lawsuit reaches its end before asking Lord Bao for help. If treated unfairly or preparing to enter litigation, you can first express the grievance and request assistance. I encourage early prayer because, if matters are left until the end, the scope for help may be more limited.

But there is a condition: the request must be reasonable, lawful and on the side of fairness and justice. You cannot harm others and then seek a deity as your backing. I also warned at the time that such requests from someone breaking the law would generally not work and might instead bring Lord Bao’s reprimand. Seeking justice still requires facing whether we ourselves are right or wrong.

People easily lose heart when wronged. I hope they retain faith and hope. I believe heaven has its way and justice, and that even if justice is not obtained in the human world, heaven will still restore it. As for resolving the present matter, prayer to Lord Bao may be one way to help it reach a fuller resolution. This is support I draw from faith.

At the lowest point of my own life, I also felt that family, relatives and friends could not help. Only deities left me with hope then. That is why I say deities represent light and hope. Some things truly exceed what we can presently accomplish. Faith keeps people from being left only with despair and gives strength to face life.
