A note before reading

This library is based on Master Shengyuan’s personal experiences and reflections on spiritual practice. They may not apply to everyone’s circumstances. It is important to distinguish everyday life from spiritual practice, and science from metaphysical beliefs. Use your own judgment and read with care. If you have questions, you are welcome to discuss them.

Listen

Listen to the full context and understand the reminder first. Hearing 'do your practice' need not immediately suggest disaster. Sometimes our own worry arises first, and later we discover an entirely different matter was being discussed.

At one Mother Goddess birthday, Master Ji Gong reminded everyone to do spontaneous movement and spiritual exercises. Fellow practitioners recalled similar reminders before the pandemic and became anxious that something else might happen.

But the later discussion concerned an assessment of practice, which relieved them. The reminder was to do their lessons properly, not another pandemic wave they feared. This shows how personal associations can differ from the actual reminder.

Still do what needs learning and practice sincerely. Practice aims for greater understanding, freedom, and happiness. Turning faith into restriction and constant fear of bad luck without practice loses its original positive direction.
