A note before reading

This library is based on Master Shengyuan’s personal experiences and reflections on spiritual practice. They may not apply to everyone’s circumstances. It is important to distinguish everyday life from spiritual practice, and science from metaphysical beliefs. Use your own judgment and read with care. If you have questions, you are welcome to discuss them.

Cleanliness and good lighting certainly care for the environment. But from my feng shui learning, I also consider orientation and layout. These are different aspects. An attractive first impression cannot establish full understanding of the home.

We have visited well-organised, bright homes that still had things to examine and adjust within our religious understanding. Investigation is not confined to dirty homes, nor does cleanliness alone settle the matter.

Door orientation, the altar and stove positions are aspects I have mentioned. Consider the actual house and explain what is being examined, rather than apply one account to every bright home.
