What does Master mean by not proactively “awakening” people’s spirits?

It means not using blessings to force a spiritual-awakening reaction in someone who originally has no spiritual sensations. Sheng Zhen Men first understands existing feelings and circumstances, then guides according to the person’s situation.
Explaining this, I said learners came because their spirituality had first begun feeling something and they wanted to understand. We do not know when each awakening occurs. Perhaps there is a connection with cultivation, or lessons have reached a point needing understanding. They still need concepts and principles before gradually approaching meditation and exercises.
Having feelings does not equal understanding practice. Some arrive after considerable trouble; others gradually recognize sensations while learning. All need guidance and shared learning. Beginnings differ. Someone else’s strong reaction is no reason to demand the same from yourself.
It resembles a two-year-old who might eventually dance very well but cannot yet stand steadily. Forcing adult dance steps would be inappropriate. Forcibly opening spirituality before readiness may not help. Step-by-step guidance suited to the person is our direction.
Particular care is needed when someone urgently requests forced awakening merely to experience movement or gain powers. In our understanding, this might connect external energy while being mistaken for personal cultivation. For sensitive people near awakening, we inform the deities and help purify and settle them, allowing the original spirit to emerge naturally rather than forcing reactions because they are wanted.
However, this does not mean everyone whose awakening began through divine guidance is unfavorable. I have seen a few who initially needed a deity to guide movements until confidence allowed their own movement stage. With sound faith, understanding, and concepts, that cannot be universally rejected. My greater concern is people unprepared and unfamiliar with a teacher’s or deity’s origin urgently seeking forced awakening for fortune or powers.
Before obvious perceptions, do what is currently possible: meditate, recite, and adjust ideas and attitude. Immature conditions do not mean you are behind because others already move. This is Sheng Zhen Men’s entry approach, not a requirement for every method to work identically.
