Can everyone else's participation replace judgment of right and wrong?
English translation draft · Based on the Chinese article. This is not a word-for-word translation approved by Master Shengyuan.
Judgment remains necessary. Groups can do good, but also make previously daunting wrongs seem minor. Many participants cannot make known impropriety acceptable.
Each person thinking one more makes no difference adds up to many. Friends' encouragement can lower original vigilance. In faith, shared wrongdoing creates shared influence, which I call collective karma.
Ask whether the act itself is right, not only whether companions exist. Ten or a hundred participants cannot make wrong right. Your step still matters; judgment cannot all be handed to others.
