A note before reading

This library is based on Master Shengyuan’s personal experiences and reflections on spiritual practice. They may not apply to everyone’s circumstances. It is important to distinguish everyday life from spiritual practice, and science from metaphysical beliefs. Use your own judgment and read with care. If you have questions, you are welcome to discuss them.

Life, Death and Ancestors

Can deliverance be completed with one implement, as in a drama?

Drama plots cannot directly become methods of deliverance. Sheng Zhen Men first understands the deceased's condition, then arranges scriptures, Buddha-name recitation, merit dedication, and divine assistance. Obtaining an implement and performing one action does not complete everything.

I have said some recitation is needed, with certain cases needing more. Scriptures carry divine strength, and the merit resembles a gift helping the deceased toward a suitable place through energy transformation and blessing. Seeing one action cannot justify omitting the work behind it.

We perform the rites and recitation ourselves, while requesting deities such as Kṣitigarbha or Guanyin according to the deceased's condition and needs. Understand first, then coordinate assistance. Personal practice and divine help each have a part.
