Must a deceased loved one return home on the seventh day?

Tradition describes a return, but the deceased's condition still matters. Our religious experience concerns connections among the deceased, family, remains, and later rites.

Deep family ties continue while remains and rituals are present. With proper soul retrieval and completed rites, I would theoretically expect a seventh-day visit to family.

Incomplete retrieval or unawareness of death may differ. Accidental deaths also require individual understanding. The calendar reaching day seven cannot make everyone identical.

Some relatives report familiar smells or a felt visit before the seventh day. We share only what cultivation has brought into contact and understanding about the afterlife, perhaps a small part. Learn the faith while retaining room for further understanding.
