A note before reading

This library is based on Master Shengyuan’s personal experiences and reflections on spiritual practice. They may not apply to everyone’s circumstances. It is important to distinguish everyday life from spiritual practice, and science from metaphysical beliefs. Use your own judgment and read with care. If you have questions, you are welcome to discuss them.

The donor’s own willingness matters most. From practice, we cannot overlook the person’s wishes merely because organs could help someone. If the person willingly hopes to help through donation, that can be a good and virtuous act.

A person may still feel reluctance and attachment toward the body. I consider its closeness and how the person sees it inwardly. A clear personal wish differs from others deciding before understanding. We cannot consider only what other people want.

We also discussed families facing such a decision and explaining that donation hopes to assist other lives, while seeking the person’s agreement. This explanation and communication place human respect first rather than focus only on what remains usable in the body.
