Spiritual Cultivation and Movement
If my perception differs from the divination lot, does it mean the perception was completely wrong?

Do not rush to conclude. Consider your feeling and the lot together. On pilgrimage, I had disciples first settle and sense, then draw a lot to examine similarities and differences. The point is understanding perceptions more fully, not declaring complete failure from one difference.
Those disciples had trained for many years. Earlier, I mostly conveyed messages; later, they tried experiencing things themselves and returned to discuss and judge. An answer appearing in the mind does not remove further inquiry or establish divine speech.
Miao Yuan described finding a close match between feelings, the lot and my explanation, which felt unusual. Dao Shun joked that nothing matched and others should do it instead. I reminded everyone this was practice. Sometimes differing appearances reflect different divine reminders. Discussing both matches and differences allows learning, rather than quickly classifying oneself as talented or not.
