I do not recommend bringing protective temple-gate lions into ordinary homes simply because they are appealing or valuable. Consider original purpose and household suitability together. An imposing appearance does not guarantee benefit.

With practitioners, we discussed their religious role in warding harmful energy. They have a purpose at a temple, but in my understanding their energy may be too strong and create imbalance in a residence. Excess is not better.

An antique collector later told me of past dizziness and discomfort. His home also held temple lions, prompting this angle of inquiry. But I did not know him when it happened, and he could not remember what he had touched. The story reminds us to consider use and setting, not attribute all bodily problems to an antique merely because events followed one another.
