Starting Spiritual Practice
Must cultivation last ten years before serving others?
English translation draft · Based on the Chinese article. This is not a word-for-word translation approved by Master Shengyuan.
Ten years is neither always required nor a guarantee. It described accumulation by students and me, not a universal deadline. Knowledge, virtue, life experience, and stable energy all require actual learning before service.
I practiced nearly ten years before serving as a teacher. Faster progress I saw still involved about two or three years before greater learning and responsibility. Purification, soul-calming, and other tasks differ in difficulty, but good work also needs a sincere great vow to help, beyond years alone.
New students sometimes urgently asked when they could purify people, homes, or exorcise while their own energy remained unstable. Rushing may fail others and harm oneself. Like trying to run before crawling, desire does not automatically establish needed foundations.
If sincerely wishing to help beings, practice steadily, develop patience and knowledge, and maintain virtue. I believe alignment with divine support may shorten learning. Yet continue studying what remains unclear or impossible rather than skip necessary experience for quick powers.
