A note before reading

This library is based on Master Shengyuan’s personal experiences and reflections on spiritual practice. They may not apply to everyone’s circumstances. It is important to distinguish everyday life from spiritual practice, and science from metaphysical beliefs. Use your own judgment and read with care. If you have questions, you are welcome to discuss them.

This reminds us that human life offers actual cultivation. Desire, conflict, attachment, and sincere concern for others all appear daily. The six realms need not only evoke distant worlds; they can prompt examining the present heart and conduct.

I compare intense craving with hungry ghosts and constant combativeness with asuras. Genuinely kind people who consider others resemble a heavenly aspect. Human variety offers opportunities for learning and practice.

More importantly, ask your direction. You may learn willingness to give or remain led by money and desire. In my view, people unable to free themselves from desire usually live with difficulty, though not necessarily extreme misery. Understanding these patterns helps us become masters of life and place cultivation in daily choices.
