I discuss primordial qi and Five Thunder energy through my spiritual experiences to understand the relationship between life and practice. In this understanding, human spirituality and bodily qi connect with life's source. I also explain this through thunder's yang and generative meaning. This is our school's language of faith concerning practice, not a claim that this framework has proved the body's physiological workings.

When discussing the principal qi of the Five Thunders, I use the five directional energies of metal, wood, water, fire, and earth to explain their relationship with the five internal organs. Meditation, scripture recitation, and spontaneous movement then return to nurturing and circulating spiritual energy through practice while learning toward balance of body, mind, and spirit. This explains a spiritual view of the person, not a way to diagnose which energy is wrong from one discomfort.

The question came from a student already practicing at Sheng Zhen Men who wanted to specialize in thunder rites. I reminded him to stabilize his existing spontaneous movement and innate-spirit practice first, rather than assume an impressive-looking additional method could bypass fundamentals. This addressed his existing learning, not instructions for an untrained person to perform rituals for others from a few sentences.

During my early spontaneous movement, I felt electricity throughout my body. I also worked in correspondence with a Taoist priest studying ritual methods and felt energetic resonance. These were personal practice experiences. My path was spiritual cultivation; the other person did not necessarily practice spontaneous movement and had their own skills. Different methods do not mean only mine works.

Receiving divine strength is not merely imagination. I have experienced being unable to receive it when my own physical and mental energy was poor, which made me value stabilizing my ordinary condition more. Connection, divine willingness to assist, and my own capacity to bear the work all matter, not only the words 'spiritual power.'

To draw close to Thunder Department deities, you can also study their virtues and aspirations through relevant scriptures and sacred proclamations, then learn gradually. It is like basketball: wanting elaborate dunks before mastering basic dribbling may not work. In practice too, establish the necessary learning firmly before considering application, rather than chasing marvelous techniques alone.
