In my understanding of faith, burning spirit money conveys offerings to departed people we care about through intention, custom, and ritual. But burning it does not by itself guarantee a particular recipient receives it. Consider whether the intended person is clear, whether the ancestor is settled at the tablet, and their condition at the time. This is connection discussed through religious experience, not an audited account confirming every transaction.

I have said spirit money is not simply exchanged for cash in another world according to its printed figures. Some is for spiritual soldiers, while other types serve different rites. I prefer to understand them as energy for different purposes. I have also said I lack a firm answer about how much one sheet equals. References to a hundred thousand or one transforming into ten illustrate intention and religious transformation, not an exchange-rate table for pricing or guaranteeing receipt.

For ancestral worship at home, I said that if ancestors are genuinely present at the tablet and the recipients are clear, they should theoretically receive it. If they have not been enshrined or their state is unsettled, further inquiry is needed. Regarding burning paper at graves, I also mentioned folk accounts of other unseen beings taking it. I personally think clearly identifying the recipient helps, but did not say writing a name guarantees delivery of everything.

Intention can also develop through practical action. Personally folding lotus flowers, reciting scriptures, and investing time may feel different from simply obtaining an object. Yet I also recognize that buying lotuses or asking a practitioner to assist can still convey blessings. Encouraging personal effort must not become a claim that those unable to fold or lacking time have no filial care or merit.

So do not only keep asking whether you have burned enough. First know whom you care about and what you wish to express, then explore suitable worship. Where settling or guiding the departed is genuinely needed, seek appropriate help. The quantity and denomination of spirit money cannot replace understanding and blessings for loved ones.
