A note before reading

This library is based on Master Shengyuan’s personal experiences and reflections on spiritual practice. They may not apply to everyone’s circumstances. It is important to distinguish everyday life from spiritual practice, and science from metaphysical beliefs. Use your own judgment and read with care. If you have questions, you are welcome to discuss them.

I see it more as witness and aspiration, not deification through one visit. Hearing of the register can focus attention only on status and obscure continued practice and effort.

Early mentors discussed Xiqi City, Jiang Taigong, and Investiture stories, hoping spirituality would return toward original brightness. These were accounts within that transmission. One story cannot make all investiture practices identical.

In my understanding, when someone genuinely practices, helps others, and accumulates merit, deities witness that dedication and encourage continued movement toward Buddhahood or immortality. Even when a name is said to enter the register, later conduct still matters.

Our visit was not merely following with incense. Everyone needed to consider genuine aims in practice and state a vow. Sincerity matters more than grandeur or impressive ambition. Ritual reminders must ultimately return to action.

During the rite I explained that declaring 'My name is in the register' expressed hope: may future work genuinely deserve recognition. Leaving the gate still means eating, living, and continuing practice. Crossing it cannot mean already becoming a deity.

Traditions also explain circling the Nine Dragon Pool differently. One approach is not everyone's sole standard. The Investiture Platform was closed on our visit, so we did not ascend it. Descriptions of procedure and faith stories must remain distinct from what the actual trip completed.
